Joerec

Joerec followed his education to become a goldsmith in Schoonhoven (the Netherlands). After having lived there for 5 years he decided to move to Antwerp (Belgium) to finish his internship in the diamond sector. After graduating Joerec returned to the Netherlands with the idea of never coming back to Belgium. After futile attempts to find a job, he decided to join the Dutch army, but not without applying for a job in Antwerp. This application and job will have a great influence on his further life.

In February 2011 Joerec decided to set up his own company and studio to prepare his first jewelry collection. In December 2011 the first collection was launched under the name "Timeless Elegance". The collection was based on geometrical forms and natural, organic forms.

The models that were created as from 2012 were more inspired on nature. Man and his thoughts will take a more central place in his work. More and more creations find their origin in human thoughts and daily feelings.

Style. The style of Joerec's jewelry is generally speaking organic and true to nature. From time to time you will find a side-leap to more geometrical jewelry. Joerec has a predilection for Art-nouveau, form which influences can be found in his work. His organic models are mostly so sculptured that the ring and the theme can be recognised as a whole. Joerec often integrates a small golden ball in the shin as a form of signature and mark of authenticity.

Quality. A high degree of finishing off and the use of qualitative materials are important values in the company vision of Joerec. It was a conscious decision to cooperate only with Belgian companies which are specialised in a certain fields of expertise. Joerec chose not to produce in low wage countries to reduce costs. He will neither make concessions to a qualitative finishing of the jewels.

Exclusivity. Handicraft is Joerec's main issue for exclusivity. Each model is hand-made and finished with great care. Large-scale production is impossible. Each jewel thus gets a high degree of uniqueness which is, for Joerec, the essence of a jewel. It also offers him the possibility of personalising the models to the customer's wishes. By making use of qualitative materials such as Akoya pearls, natural gemstones and real diamonds, Joerec distinguishes his jewels from others and the quality becomes predominant.
